For her running mate, the list Clinton is expected to choose from includes Housing Secretary Julian Castro, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Labor Secretary Tom Perez and retired Navy Adm. James Stavridis.
The campaign has been tightlipped about who on the list Clinton is leaning toward, though many of those close to the former secretary of State expect that she will go with Kaine, widely considered the safe choice.

Team Trump should come up with something dramatic to preempt the media attention that day.

I hope she picks that Castro fella because it could make a great campaign slogan:

Yep, the timing will be to try to take attention away from Trump’s convention and his speech Thursday night.
Trump’s speech Thursday night would otherwise be a key issue in the news cycle for Friday and the weekend. But if Hillary picks her running mate Friday, then that will be the big news story through the weekend.
