Residents along the U.S.-Mexico border are feeling ignored in the midst of a U.S. presidential election in which immigration, border security and a proposed wall are being hotly debated, a poll released Monday suggests.
A Cronkite News-Univision News-Dallas Morning News border poll found a majority of urban residents surveyed on both sides of the border are against the building of a wall between the two countries and believe the campaigns tone n is damaging relations.
Residents feel Democrats and Republicans are ignoring their concerns and arent proposing solutions to help their economies or combat drug trafficking and human smuggling, journalists who gathered reaction to the poll found.

“Illegals along border oppose border wall.”
They are really plumbing the depths of despair when they have to take a “border poll” of “urban” US AND Mexican residents in order to get the result they want.
How about a poll of AMERICANS in the border states!
So a border wall would not help combat drug trafficking?
I don’t get it.
How about a poll of American landowners along the border?
Hahaha.
The “Cronkite News-Univision News-Dallas Morning News” poll? What could go wrong?

The people who live near the border should not have a particularly large voice in this debate. A secure border serves a national interest, not a local one. We, as a country, should not be overly concerned about what border area residents think of this policy.
Sure they want their relatives to easily join them. How about the ranchers who are right on the border? How do they feel about it?
... and have a squadron of ED-209s patrolling the area south of the wall. When that area started looking like the start of one of the Terminator movies (skulls and skeletons everywhere), I guarantee there would be no illegal immigration.
Actually I think just the ED-209s would suffice. Save the wall money for deportations.
Trump is proposing a solution. Just because you disagree with it, doesn't mean it is not a solution.
The drug traffiking is easily done with a wide open border.
Too bad.
How many of these “residents” are illegals?
From the article, “The majority of interviews were done in Spanish on both sides of the border, and the margin of error was 2.6 percent.”
This is BS at the highest degree. It is also interesting that they conducted their interviews in “urban” areas and not in rural areas.
Tells you everything you need to know about who they polled and the results they were looking to get, doesn't it?
They named a poll after that gas-bag?
Economies of Mexican 'urban areas' are not under the jurisdiction of the USA, however, economies are tanked by illegal immigration, which drains the job and public services sectors. Drugs and human smuggling is one-way - again, a Mexican government problem, that the USA has thrown billions of dollars to, to stop the problem. Seems to me, these folks are complaining to the wrong government.
Outright LIE from the AP....a NEW YORK TIMES (of all people) went to the border and was SURPRISED to find that EVERYONE down there, including Hispanics want the wall.
