Eggplant.
I’m a sucker for heirlooms and traditional types, so I usually grow the Italian “Black Beauty” type tear drop shaped purple kind, but this year I got seed for a similarly shaped but white-colored kind. It was listed as having the same outstanding texture and flavor, but less bitter due to the lighter skin.
Man were they right! Best eggplant I ever grew. Seems to grow and produce better in my hot humid Alabama weather, too.
My Japanese eggplant is doing really well here in upstate SC. I forgot about the white variety and will plant some. Thanks.
