Two months ago I was with the former President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, at his home outside of Medellin.
He was telling me some hilarious stories about his interactions in the early 2000s with Hugo Chavez, who had recently seized power in Venezuela.
Chavez was a fanatic socialist. He believed so strongly in the idea of redistributing wealth from rich to poor.
Yet even when it was clear his policies weren’t working and Venezuela was rapidly sliding into economic chaos, Chavez’s only solution was to double down and redistribute even MORE wealth.
It was the classic definition of insanity.
Chavez failed to understand what Uribe told me so succinctly: “If there’s no wealth creation, there’s nothing left to redistribute.”
We know how Venezuela turned out; its failed socialist experiment led to today’s infamous shortages of food and toilet paper.
But here in Russia is perhaps the most famous example in our modern times.
Marxists came to power in a bloody 1917 revolution with the goal of eradicating poverty and redistributing wealth.
Yet like Venezuela, the only equality the Soviet Union managed to achieve was making everyone equally poor to the point that this vast wasteland of destitution finally collapsed in the late 1980s.

My values are not being broken down but are being strengthened. Liberals are attacking American values and trying to break American society. They are having some success and the lap dog news media is making it sound like they are a complete success.
Only a fool, a demon, or a liberal could possibly miss the connection, viz. the problems we are experiencing coincide perfectly with our prohibition of Jesus Christ in education, politics, the media and religion.
I agree entirely! My values are being reinforced and the enemies of our country are now obvious to more people every day..

Pick a side and stand by it because this is a culture war that is heating up.
And by the way, there is no such thing as a “hyphenated” American.
Just “American”;

I’m not really sure there are such things as “Western Values”.
There are Christian values. There are British values. There are Northwestern European values.
But “Western values” says too much, and too little at the same time.

Western Civilization is a combination of Biblical morality from ancient Jews with scientific and engineering values from our brutal pagan predecessors.
Dropping Biblical morality by definition destroys Western Civilization. And look at contemporary American blacks to see what happens when science and engineering are denigrated along with the abandonment of Biblical morality. The whole culture is headed where American blacks are now.
