"Look, in many ways Donald Trump is like a pirate. He's outside the normal system, he gets things done, he's bold, he's actually like a figure out of a movie," the former House speaker said during an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity. "In a lot of ways, my entire career has been a little bit like a pirate. I've taken on the establishment in both parties, [I'm] very prepared to fight in the media.

"One of the hard questions on the way to California: Do you really want a two-pirate ticket?"

I am not sure about the pirate comparison, but I think Trump/Gingrich would be an exciting and effective ticket.

Just remember that Gingrich' "Contract with America" was what captured the House for the Republicans after many years of Dem majority.

Does this mean Gingrich didn’t get the Trump VP job?

I don't think so, since Gingrich said in a way he too was like a pirate.

That was NOT newt's idea, but he did push it through.

Newt as VEEP is an immediate loss of the White House!

Yep. And then he cowered in the face of the Monica Media.

Everyone asks me that and I do NOT know.

I know who I do NOT want, but since I don't know everyone in this nation, I can't come up with anyone.

Didn't Boehner claim credit for The Contract With America?

It appears, dear, the list is pretty short. You don’t like Newt, so the pool is narrowed to: Christie, Pence, with Sessions as a possible dark horse.

I understand what Newt is saying.

But the choice of words just gives democrats some more raw material to spin into anti-Trump ads.

Let’s face it - the word “Pirate” doesn’t bring to mind positive images.

It evokes negative images of law breaking, pillaging, plundering, abusive conduct.

Using the word “pirate” to describe Trump plays into Hillary’s ongoing characterization of him as a robber baron, a scammer, real estate shyster, etc.

Probable Hillary comment: “Even his own supporters call him a pirate.”

It was an older man, who had been in the House long before newt got there. I have forgotten his name now, but this other man had a lot of great ideas, which sadly never did manage to go anywhere.

Boehner? I don't remember him claiming that he thought it up; no.

No pet, NEVER Christie and I doubt that Trump is stupid enough to pick him for VEEP.

Pence adds nothing and looks older than trump, but I could hold my nose if he is on the ticket. I like Sessions, but it won't be him.

I am hoping for someone nobody has ever mentioned.

“Yep. And then he cowered in the face of the Monica Media.”

He cowered under threat of outing demons in his own closet. And they were released any ways short time following the events of the day........
