For what it’s worth, earlier today CNN reported that Newt asked for a meeting with Trump and flew to Indiana to have it. Meanwhile Christie was invited to Trump Tower and met with Ivanka, her husband and Don Jr.

Hmmmm. Asked for a meeting? If so, he’s not the one.

We knew it was headed to the SCOTUS. Wait until DJT fills a couple of positions and then send it through. Look what happen to Row vs Wade because it got pushed thru a liberal court

Learn from mistakes. And have patience

IMO a Newt has been acting in the role of BBF for over a year. His number one political advisor. The relationship should continue as such. A political appointment that allows and encourage this friendship is just a bonus.
I said way last fall that Newt was the man behind the curtain and was not interested in becoming P or VP himself. He’s a patriot and will serve, but not With aspiration to the top position himself
All talk of being in the pack is just Kabuki

Yup. His skills and experience are better suited as Trump’s Chief of Staff. Unfortunately, most here do not recognize the influence of that position.

Totally agree. I like Newt for Chief of Staff or senior adviser, not VP. What does VP do all day anyway—nothing.

This would be a no-brainer if Newt hadn’t been so erratic over the years since he stepped down as Speaker. When he is on, he’s great. His cozying up to Pelosi and Hillary and his constant need for ego stroking puts me off.

On the other hand, I was just listening to Hannity whilst driving around on some errands. He was making the case for Newt over Pence. His argument was that Newt would be a stronger attack dog, prosecuting the political case against Hillary. I agree. We need a Charles Martel, not a Casper Milquetoast. Newt can do that; Pence cannot.

Pence is the safe choice. It placates the establishment. Christie would be well suited to AG. I want Newt but he could fill any position. At his age National Security Advisor comes to mind.

Doubt it. That opens up all of Bill Clinton’s assaults on women.....................I don't think so. It hasn't worked so far, the left cares not a wit about BJ rapes.

Pence is the safe choice.

Pence makes Trump expendable, not smart.
