Most of my family had already been here for at least two generations at the time of the Revolution, and some as much as four generations.

Oh, my, you newcomers!

I can trace my ancestors back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, in the mid 1600s.

I tease my husband all the time. None of his ancestors arrived before the 1800s.

Well we do have Bradfords in the family....but our people go back mainly to 1681

Seems a fair number of English and Scots-Irish came over then
