Dr. Brian H. Williams, a trauma surgeon at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, was on duty last Thursday night when wounded police officers began to arrive in the ER.
Speaking to CNN's Don Lemon Monday night, he said that the experience has affected him deeply and was like "this bad movie on an endless loop."
He added: "Going to work has forced me to kind of push it aside temporarily but it continues to break through.
"I'm thinking about the officers and their families and the men that were killed in Baton Rouge and Minnesota last week and I compare my situation to theirs and it's hard for me to focus on myself right now."

No, I don’t agree. Ambushing police is not the same as correct police action in dealing with criminals. We muddy these waters at our peril.
What is being swept under the rug?
Do you agree with the police executing innocent Americans? (White and Black alike)
In several high profile cases recently, the police was too quick to pull the trigger.
I haven’t seen one recently.
Last one I know of was in North Carolina.
You got any proof of your accusation?
What is being swept under the rug?
Which case specifically are you referring to?
I agree with the doctor too. Until we start to JAIL THE FELONS on a regular basis and HOLD EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE, the killings will continue.
New York City, under Rudy first, then Bloomberg, VIRTUALLY ELIMINATED MURDER in Manhattan (and reduced it city-wide to levels that were lower than a number of states), simply by HOLDING CRIMINALS ACCOUNTABLE. They didn’t go to ‘leaders’ of movements calling for killings and beg for their votes - they simply locked up those kinds of people.
Now something tells me that this surgeon spends too much time hanging out in medical journals to know that - but approaches like that will get him what he’s demanding.
Goes both way. Police needs to be held accountable. An American shouldn't have to fear police when he gets pulled over.
Philando Castile case?
How do you know they executed him?
You and I are in a small group. Personally, I think cops are way too dictator like. If an individual cop wants my respect he’s going to have to show me some.
Well the doc probably understands how cancer invades the body and needs to be removed for it to heal. We got that in the WH right now and nothing’s going to change till that parasite is removed from the host. Hopefully 2017 will come and the sun will shine on America again once we kick all the evil that has been done in the last 7 1/2 years to the curb. I’d like to see the word, gay, and acronym, “LGBT”, banished from the English language forever after this crap.
I have no fear of police. I have been pulled over twice in the last month while carrying a Sig 226 on my waistline and a pistol AR in the backpack next to my front seat. So concealed and open carry at the same time. Both times were late at night, I pulled into a service station with my hazards on to show I saw and am compliant with the stop even though I am driving to a well lit area first, then turned on my dome light and put my wallet on the dash open with my handgun licence clearly visible. Neither time was the officer the least bit worried about my firearms. It probably helps I’m a white upper middle class veteran in a luxury car with veteran on my plates and licences. My lead foot gets me in trouble my guns are not even brought up usually other than to acknowledge I have the license on my person and to comment on my choice of AR brand and configuration as a veteran police almost always ask what I carry and why.
Thanks, FRiend. Whatever happened to "serve and protect"? Ideally, a police officer lives in the Community he patrols. He knows everyone by name.
Except for rural areas, it's not like that anymore.
The police are being held accountable. The bad apples are prosecuted and jailed. The numbers of such cases are small. The narrative of widespread police shootings of blacks is simply false. BLM is still perpetuating the hands up don’t shoot myth of Michael Brown despite state and federal investigations. So far, there have been no convictions in the Baltimore Freddy Gray cases.
We still do not have all the facts in the Baton Rouge and Minneapolis cases. Yet, the MSM and interest groups have already convicted the police in these cases. The reality is that blacks commit a disproportionate share of crime, including homicides. And blacks are the victims of black crime.
The police are on the frontlines protecting all citizens. They are enforcing the laws approved by the public. Their lives are at risk every day. A simple traffic stop could result in their deaths or injury. Should a policeman fear an American citizen when pulled over for an infraction of the law?
I wish someone would tell parents that “the talk” they have with their sons about “police targeting blacks” is a part of the problem. The facts don’t bear it out, but paranoid is one way to live that makes it seem like it is true.
Tell them the facts about who is really killing young black men!
“An American shouldn’t have to fear police when he gets pulled over.”
I don’t, but then I comply. There is also a justice system, complete with courtrooms that I can access if I have issues.
And for blacks that comply, same results. Sure, some pigs are jerks, but there are plenty of ways to deal with that short of shooting them in cold blood.
