All in all, Team USA is a major threat! Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, too. Did you see the hurdles USA Olympic qualifying race, all black except for one white guy and the white guy won? LOL
Huge eyes! she’s spitting image of her dad..they kept showing the parents when waiting for the team announcement.
Hernandez was amazing and was the breakout star at trials.
Her eyes truly captured everyone’s attention, indeed.
As far as racism goes, the U.S. team already had the guaranteed qualification of Simone Biles. I just don’t think Gabby earned her spot this time. It reminded me of four years ago when another Olympic All-Around Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin failed in her attempt to go to a second games.
Living near Baltimore, I am able to stay up to speed on Michael Phelps, who is now headed to his recording setting fifth Olympiad. He is, I believe, the most decorated Olympic swimmer in history. Plus he probably has added incentive/motivation now that he has a baby son at home.
Don’t quite follow track and field much.
Wishing all our Olympians the best of luck in Rio next month.
Hope they all can avert the Zika mosquitoes and survive the polluted waters.
Just would be so beautiful, again, if Ragan had been chosen by Martha Karolyi, who BTW is retiring after these games.
I’ll always remember her husband, Bela, going back to 1984 with Mary Lou Retton through 1996 when he literally carried an injured Keri Strug after she completed her vault to secure that team gold.
It will be so strange to not have the Karolyis involved in USA Women’s Gymnastics any longer.
Perhaps, Ragan’s coach and Bela favorite Kim Zmeskal may ascend to oversee their famous ranch and supervise our program.
