Republican delegates unanimously adopted an amendment to their draft platform Monday morning that called pornography a public health crisis and a public menace that is destroying lives.
The language went further in its condemnation of porn than the 2012 GOP platform, which condemned child pornography and encouraged the enforcement of obscenity and pornography laws.

This is why the “social conservatism” part of the GOP turns a lot of people off. Too much dictating what people should do in their own homes.
Good grief. There are real issues out there GOPe!
Lets see, cops are being slaughtered, ISIS is chopping off heads, Jihadists are killing Americans..and the GOP is concerned about....Porn
Or if you want to fight a battle on social conservatism, at least pick one you can win.
I am totally with them on the destructive effects of porn, but as a practical matter I don’t know what you could ever do about it. Short of building our own Great Firewall with thousands of bureaucrats censoring the internet.
Even then it wouldn’t be totally effective.
While I agree that porn is spiritually toxic, this isn’t something you can easily legislate. Child porn, yes, absolutely it should be criminalized and already is. The Feds take that crime VERY seriously go after child porn aggressively. Just ask Jared Fogle about that.
But you’re not going to solve the adult porn problem with a government crackdown. Like the war on drugs, that war will only be won in the hearts and minds of the American people. Or lost.
And there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. But they are government drones who think passing laws are effective.
Stupid. The platform as Trump already suggested, should be 3-5 meaningful items: immigration, national security, etc. Issues like porn might address grandma’s concerns but not the general electorate and is a distraction, especially this year. Hopefully Trump will throw away this BS, else, like all candidates in past, just ignore it. But if written, he’ll have to explain, dismiss, or defend it. He should not have to. No one is going to win an election objecting to porn.
Here’s a thought: why don’t we get back to a simpler mandate of the government: The Common Defense, Interstate Roads, and Getting the Hell Out of Our Way.
I’m going to channel my inner sergeant Hartman voice...
JESUS H CHRIST! What is your major malfunction?
For f’s sake this country is torn by racial strife, divided by sexuality, gender, religion, economic outcomes and more things than we can list but discussed daily and they’re concerned about porn?
Let me get this straight, a group of people that have a good number of them looking to disenfranchise millions of voters, think that’s not an issue but porn is.
Good God stick a fork in them. They’re dumber than dirt and don’t deserve to survive.
This is a flaccid issue.
so, who is in favor of porn?
Me.
A man pays a woman to have sexual intercourse = prostitution
A guy holding a camera pays both a man and a woman to have sexual intercourse ≠ prostitution
Me.
Why do people think porn is so prevalent. The answer is the systemic breakdown of the family unit and empowerment of radical feminism at the expense of men. Men are now afraid to enter meaningful relationships and have went to porn by default.
He is paying them “to act”.
^this.
