I talk a tough game and am pretty tough but this has me a little shaken. Concrete blocks!!

I live in NYC and have taken drastic steps to protect me and my own. I know many are prepared.

But a concrete block thrown from behind at your head makes any means of self defense useless.

Not necessarily, but it's a serious injury, with serious risk of permanent, life altering damage (to include paralysis).

Saw my first concrete block thrown by one of Obama’s sons from an overpass onto a car in front of me while on a freeway in Detroit. Early 1980’s. Just bounced off the trunk, but could have been deadly. Always check overpasses since then.

Next-door neighbor of my friend is a Baltimore City cop. During the riots last year, one of Obama's sons threw a cinder block in his direction. He'd just turned his head to yell something to another officer when the cinder block struck him in the side of the face. He suffered a broken jaw, multiple lacerations to his ear and cheek, and a severe concussion.

While in the hospital, the only concern he had was how soon he could heal so he could return back to the precinct.

Before he came home, my friend asked his wife what he liked. She told her "Peanut butter cookies - and Maker's Mark". Neighbors met him on his return trip from the hospital with plenty of both.
