Just a guess, but I think it has something to do with being run by liberals.
The editors and writers for the NY Post took too many blows to the head back when they were out on the street, covering various riots and continually getting in the face of the cops who were trying to break up the commotion. Definitely not part of the solution, and anything but impartial observers.
