Not so sure she lied about the taillight. I’ve seen the transcript of the officer’s conversation with the controller. I know that he told the control that he was stopping because of a resemblance to the BOLO.
Now, consider this. Would you walk up to a car and tell the occupant that you stopped him because you think he might be an armed robbery suspect or would you tell him you stopped him for a burned out taillight? Which would be the safer option for the policeman?
I don’t know what the cop told the car’s occupants but I can see why he might tell him it was a taillight.
It was daytime. How could they be stopped for a tail light in the daytime?
Oops - plus a photo of the car on CTH showed both tail lights working.
