This meeting is very good news. They don’t need us Americans to be involved in every step. Better when we are not steering the discussion, so long as both parties have equal opportunity to be heard. There must be practical and economic reasons why Egypt seeks a better relationship with Israel. Some Egyptians display a hate of the jews on par with what comes from the Palestinians. Also, when the west band was in Jordan’s hands Israel was only 9 miles wide with Jordan on the high ground. That is not a defensible position for a country that has been attacked 6 times to allow.
