Michael G. Hubbard, the former speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives who was convicted in a state trial last month on 12 counts of corruption, was sentenced on Friday to four years in prison plus probation and $210,000 in fines.

We hear of so many convictions of pols, think Illinois or Louisiana. But, after witnessing the walk Comey gave to the Witch, imagine how many there actually should be? These people are disgusting

Imo, any individuals not aggressively engaged in blatant criminality are either co-conspirators or accessories both before and after the fact.
Since the party affiliation is not mentioned in the first three words we can assume that this person was a democRAT

I think ol’ Julius got it backwards. I don’t believe power corrupts, but the corrupt do seek power and the ultimately corrupted seek the ultimate power.
Did the NYT cover the indictment of US House member Corrine Brown on 22 charges of fraud and Federal offenses?
Are we being told to look at another shiny ball in the air? Look at the state representative (a Republican), not at Corrine Brown.
The local NYT owned rag has a headline which reads:
“Brown, chief of staff indicted”
Headlines are all that matter to the semi low information voters. The headline reads like only her chief of staff was indicted. Only when you actually read the article do you find out that US Representative Corrine Brown, from the most convoluted House District in the US was indicted on 22 charges, along with her chief of staff.
He’s probably not nearly as bad as other popular AL politicisns.
Soon to be joined in prison by the Governor.

A few years ago conservative gained a majority in the state house and stepped on a few toes.
One prine example : they reformed rules on what gifts members could accept. Before they could accept $200.00 a day from lobbyist...well not anymore and the Dems are still mad about that.
By the way, the Florida fraud involved corruption at a charity like with the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.
Alabama Governor Bentley should be in jail for taking down Confederate Monuments. He will be next.........

Republicans indicted....Democrats have good intentions.
The standard pattern for the leftard mediots is: if it’s a democRAT involved in criminality, the party affiliation is mention several paragraphs in, if at all.
If it’s a Republican it’s withing the first three words, or at a minimum in the first sentence.
The editor must be getting senile.
