BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Nearly 36 hours after a shooting spree killed one and wounded three others in downtown Bristol, the identity of the shooter has still not been released by police.
Josh DeVine, spokesman for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, told the Bristol Herald Courier this morning that investigators hope to release something "soon."
Just after 2 a.m. Thursday, gunfire erupted on the Volunteer Parkway in the area of the Days Inn, killing Jennifer Rooney, a carrier for the Herald Courier, and wounding a Bristol Tennessee police officer, a clerk at the hotel, and another person who has not been identified. The shooter was shot by police.
