John Dingell turns 90 today, meaning he's spent barely over one-third of his life not representing Southeast Michigan in Congress.
With 59 years of service, Dingell remains the longest-serving congressman in the history of the United States. His wife, Debbie, succeeded him as the representative from Michigan's 12th Congressional District when he retired in 2014.
Dingell is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and in recent years has developed a cult following on Twitter -- not exactly a hotbed of octogenarian politicians.
In honor of Dingell's birthday, greetings are pouring in from around the country. Among the more noteworthy was this one from Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, who invited Dingell to come to Washington, D.C., so he could hunt squirrels on the Capitol lawn.

And he’s been a POS for every one of those years, as is his wife!

90 years old and still scrounging off the backs of the taxpayers.
Poster child for term limits.
"Service," is that how they're describing it?
As in, a prostitute "services" her clients?

Only the good die young............................
He’s so hip,, for 90.. with it,, jigggy.. he used to rap with Lenin.. he so hip.
The Devil takes care of his own.
Wonder if he hung out with Marion Berry?
And that, Americans, is what’s wrong with this country.
No one should spend most of their life in Congress.
I wish Trump would talk about term limits.
I wonder how many years Jr's wife will hold the seat?
Lack of term limits, presence of universal suffrage, lack of automatic sunsetting of federal laws, dishonest money, and the income tax have destroyed this country.
Dingleberry is a symptom of these diseases.
It certainly isn't you or me.
Congrats to Dingell. Very few people can say their age is double their IQ.
Proud to say that I stood at the curb and booed him at a local parade during the very early Tea Party days. (while wearing my Don't Tread on Me shirt...)
Not proud to say that he was my rep for most of my lifetime here in Michigan. (And for a time, it was even worse: my rep was JOHN CONYERS! Oy...)
