Where to start with actor Jesse Williams’ widely praised rant on police brutality and white racism delivered at this year’s Black Entertainment Television awards show?
To his enthusiastic audience, Williams reeled off lie after lie, all in the name of black “resistance” over the “oppressor” – meaning anyone he believes benefits from “this invention called whiteness.” Time magazine called his discourse “powerful.”
Where are fact-checkers when the fact-devoid desperately need fact-checking? After all, Williams practically begged to be fact-checked when he said, “What we’ve been doing is looking at the data, and we know that police somehow manage to de-escalate, disarm and not kill white people every day.”
The “police … manage to … not kill white people every day”?
Let’s start with 2014, the last year for which there are official records. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the police killed 261 whites and 131 blacks. The CDC also found that from 1999 to 2013, the police killed almost twice the number of whites compared to blacks, 3,160 and 1,724, respectively.

This is not a race issue. These people are out of control and treat the entire population like subjects of an occupied country.
I don't know what the answer is, but it's like a reverse psychology of our ROE .... warriors do not automatically shoot at the enemy but ask permission.

Actually, when compared to the total number of public contacts police make, the number of shootings are negligible. That’s NOT to say that they aren’t important or that those shot aren’t important.
Any shooting should be, AND IS, thoroughly investigated!
BUT, the recent HIGHLY-INCREASED level of scrutiny that is foisted upon police decisions is simply unwarranted.
The man in Baton Rouge, Alton, was NOT fully restrained. And NONE of the videos, that I have seen, display with ANY certainty that his right hand (the side on which he was carrying his weapon) was restrained.
The shooting in Minnesota last night, man said he had a gun and then said he reached for his wallet. When you are carrying a weapon, you don’t MOVE without the police officer telling you EXACTLY what to do - period! That’s basic knowledge! Typically, they will have you EXIT the vehicle and THEY will remove the weapon from you. Again, BASIC knowledge.

Look at what happened to that farmer up in Washington state from Comfey’s FBI Gestapo. The farmer wasn’t black.
What some conservatives don’t seem to get is that we are drifting closer and closer to a militarized state where the lives of citizens are increasing threatened by a government and law enforcement establishment which thinks it can operate above the Constitution.
This is just another glaring example.

I never want to malign cops, because ... well ... it's a job I have never, nor ever would ... consider.
Such statistics can also be broken down with respect to economic status, so it's a little oversimplified to emphasize the racial distinction. There's not a causal relationship.
I cannot for the life of me, understand why blacks cannot learn that when a cop says sit, you should sit. If he says fetch, you should fetch. Why? Because he’s the man with the deadly authority of a police force behind him.
Trying to argue your way out of a situation with a cop is one of the most ignorant things a person can do. Trying to fight your way out of an arrest is one of the most stupid things you can do. There’s a damn good chance you may be signing you death warrant if you try to fight with or run from a cop.
When you have a cop that is nervous there’s a good chance he’ll kill you if you don’t do EXACTLY what he says.
Argue YOUR dissatisfaction before the Judge, not the cop and you won’t have any bruises or bullet holes in your body.
Not sure what you refer to in Washington state?? Look at the history of African leadership in our cities and around the world.
