There is a land bridge from Malaysia (an isthmus); the radicals come from Malaysia, at least that’s my belief. Same thing with the Philippines, an archipelago which sort of joins with Indonesia/Malaysia.
Perhaps it is not well known outside S. East Asia, but Thais and Burmese were war-like people. They went at each other ferociously. Thais are people known for Muetai, one vicious martial art.
