Sadly, I don’t trust the government enough to think that this is more than just show.
> Doesn’t mean they will recommend prosecution. Political interference by FBI is an interesting, possibly dangerous turn of events. They may want to defer to the body politic and let the public decide if she should be President if only because they don’t want to open pandoras box of precedent where the FBI investigates major party nominees.
WHAT?
If crimes have been committed the FBI should not ignore it just because of who the person is - THAT is political interference. Prosecuting crime is not left to “the body politic”.
Clinton and her team have been delaying the inevitable any way possible. The FBI opened up interview dates by adding weekends. I read the situation as Hillary running out of excuses and options.
All together now!
“I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall. I don’t recall.”
The interview will go something like this....
“We love you Hillary, can I have your autograph?”
Good point, hopefully you’re right and the FBI is fed up with her.
I’ve encountered several posts today where prosecuting Clinton for a crime is described as “political” or “interfering in politics” or similar wording.
It’s a completely backwards view.
To NOT prosecute a crime because Clinton is involved, THAT is political.
Does Clinton and Pagliano have the same attorney? Then Clinton knows what the FBI knows. She will have memory lapses, possibly have a fall, the flu, or both.
Exactly. I’m sure David Kendall has been putting the FBI off for weeks, citing every possible reason why HRC is too busy to meet with them right now, although she’d love to help in any way she can. I’ll bet the FBI finally, shrewdly, and in writing, said. “Tell you what, Mr. Kendall, given the extraordinary situation that HRC is running for President, we’ll give you 30 days to sit down with us anywhere and anytime yoy’d like, inuling weekends, holidays, and the middle of the night. If you still won’t meet with us, we’ll submit our report with this open8ng:in spite of her public insistence she was anxious to sit down with us. Mrs Clinton refused to make herself available to use for more than one month, including when we offered to meet with her at one of her private residences in the evening on the fourth of July weekend.”
I hear what you are saying. I agree with you. But it doesn’t mean these thoughts don’t exist esp among the careerists. Federal police investigating major party candidates is the type of stuff you get in Iran or Venezuela. We have to protect the republic from undue interference in the political process. Sitting Presidents are pretty much immune from prosecution, they can only be removed by impeachment. That doesn’t extend to major party candidates for POTUS obviously, but special care must be taken to avoid opening up this kind of interference. It has really never happened before, and she brought it all on herself, and her party has so little respect for the country and constitution by wrangling for her to win their nomination. They should have drummed her out for one of many reasons and the fact they did not could be an even scarier proposition. Instead they have thrust her and all these scandals and all they imply on the rest of us, and potentially on the rest of the world.
I can not agree. At all.
> We have to protect the republic from undue interference in the political process
Prosecuting Clinton - a citizen who is not an office holder - for a crime is not interference in the political process.
.............I have this eery feeling that somebody involved in this mess is going to end up dead...........soon.
There is just too much money involved that belongs to too many evil people.
Sure, crime is crime. But, DOJ and even FBI have complete discretion here, as always. Let me throw some hypotheticals at you. What if you build a pond on your land and the EPA prosecuted you. What if you were in the sodapop business and the FDA prosecuted you. What if you brought a 15 round magazine into San Francisco? What if you traded some stock and the SEC decides to prosecute for insider trading? I’m sure you get the picture. If they wanted to interfere they could, just as they could choose to prosecute anyone. Or choose not to. In fact they do interfere, such as sending the IRS after tea party groups, and even Trump has mentioned his issues with IRS audits. They may have preceded his run, but sure as the sky is blue they could find a flaw in his tax returns and claim he is a cheater.
But still don’t get me wrong. Hillary’s problems are on a whole different level in my opinion. Abuse of power, use of high office to raise private funds, influence peddling/rewarding political favors, the sale of national policy and the reckless regard for national security are among the worst of her recent scandals. She should have been booted out of the primary by her party.
