Here in WA they added in home school scores which brought up the level of achievement. Take out the home school scores and WA drops in the bucket; and yet they disparage home schooled kids because of the lack of “socializing” with kids who go to public school. That in itself should tell you something.

I expected this result.

The new SAT is much easier than older versions... these scores are fairly pathetic as averages considering the test has been dumbed down. For fun look up what your old pre 1996 score would be converted to.

what about the socialization?

Yes, the homeschooled students are far less likely to become socialists.

Common Core is the only national standard for Home Schooling families? Yuck! What I have heard about it, I dislike immensely. It’s a toxic method of ‘unlearning efficiency’ or using common sense. No. I recall Jeb! being big on it. No surprise there.

Not all students take the SAT, only those that have a desire to go to college. The statistics for the public school students are not being lowered by “dysfunctional urban students” and other “underperforming students” because those students are unlikely to take the SATs in the first place.

My home schooled son decided he did not need a graduation ceremony and went out and got a GED. For several weeks afterward, the GED service kept sending me notices about how he had scored in the top percentiles of each of the different tests.

I truly believe that any Christian who does not home or private school is doing a disservice to their children and failing their mandate to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Google “SAT Total Group Profile Report” and you will see you are mistaken.

But what about the socialization???/s

I know. I cannot believe people ask this question. Their brains are stuck on stupid.

My three homeschooled children, when we visited family members during holidy get-to-gethers, had no trouble "socializing" with all age groups--babies, toddlers, their peers, adults, grandparents.

In contrast the government-school-educated cousins immediately formed their own clique and didn't interact with anyone except their peers.

Antisocial.

Yes, and in addition my kids have TrailLife / American Heritage Girls Scouting, Art and Dance classes and Little League. My 15 year old often attends the county Republican meetings when they have a good speaker, and she helps out at the local crisis pregnancy center. She has plenty of friends, who are also either/or home schoolers or traditional Catholics.
