Cleveland relaxes rules on protest marches at GOP convention (incoming leftist swarms)

CLEVELAND – The relaxation of rules on protest marches during the upcoming Republican National Convention and the shrinking of a designated event zone downtown is an "important victory" for free speech rights, a civil rights group said Wednesday.

A federal judge said last week that the city's regulations for the four-day convention, which starts July 18, were unconstitutional and ordered city attorneys to negotiate new rules with the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio. The ACLU of Ohio had sued the city on behalf of two groups planning protests and rallies the first day of the convention and a homeless advocacy organization.

The amended rules announced Wednesday extend a designated parade route for protest marches, shrink the event zone where the rules would be enforced by roughly half and allow people who live within the zone, including the homeless, to carry banned items including bottles and cans.

Wouldn’t want to “infringe” on the rights of burnee and hildabama fabs to create a little mischief now would they? All the mayhem will attributed to the Donald of course.

Preventing leftists from protesting would also prevent Trump supporters from protesting if Ryan and Romney try to takeover the convention.

Be careful what you ask for.

I hope a lot of Trump friendly bikers and vets show up to lend support and muscle in defense of the Trump supporters there.

Can’t this country do anything without the approval or disapproval of a Federal Judge?

Most of them either don’t know the Constitution or ignore it anyway.

We may detest all of those groups, but there are legitimate First Amendment issues whenever government tries to restrict the location/duration/nature of speech.

“All the mayhem will attributed to the Donald of course.”

That didn’t succeed with the San Jose riots, did it? Those only gained Trump more votes.

Sure hope the rioters bring lots of Mexican flags to Cleveland.

Should have held the convention in Chillicothe, Ohio.

hosting the convention in the Criminal People’s Republic of Cuyahoga County was a massive mistake.

Free speech ? That is occurring inside the convention center. And if that gets stopped by the clown show outside the convention center, the city of Cleveland will be held responsible.

Anybody and everybody capable of getting to either convention should drop off boxes of “free” mexican flags just to help make the optics a little worse

This is actually good. The American voters can compare and contrast the protesters from the delegates.

Trump could have a field day.

This is not about "free speech." This is about a "right to disrupt" found in the penumbras of the Constitution.

Freedom of speech does not mean the right to be heard. It does not mean that people have a right to show up at some location because they know in advance who plans to be at that location and shout obscenities at those people; or shout anything; or wave offensive signs.

Trumps enemies can gather in Dubuque and deliver all the speeches they want. If they gather in Cleveland they should be dispatched with force.

Be careful what you ask for.

I’m not asking for anything, I’m all for free speech. :)

I just know how it’s gonna go down. The leftists will pay to bus in their welfare mobs, and any Trump supporters that manage to make it there on their own dime (and can get the time off of work because, you know, they have jobs) will be sorely outnumbered and in severe danger. The cops will be powerless because the world will be watching and they won’t want to appear ‘racist’ for enforcing the law.

It’s gonna be a mess, unfortunately. I fear it will distract from Trump’s convention message of uplifting America and restoring us to greatness. You know the MSM will be looking to report on anything besides a pro-America platform.
