Weak leadership, poor judgment, a lack of warfighting toughness and a litany of errors led to the embarrassing capture and detention by Iran of 10 U.S. sailors in the Persian Gulf in January, according to a Navy investigation released Thursday.
Six officers and three enlisted sailors have been disciplined or face disciplinary action.
The trouble began even before the sailors left port in Kuwait aboard two 50-foot boats on a short-notice, 300-mile journey to Bahrain. They were delayed, unprepared, poorly supervised and ill-suited for the mission, the report said.

They are spending all their time preparing for the transvestites soon to join them.
I’ll prepared but I bet they were sensitive to the gender selection/sexual orientation of fellow sailors. That is what truly matters these days.
Obama has done his best to replace the upper echelon of commanders in every branch of our Military. He doesn’t want our troops to be prepared. he wants them to be embarrassed and run away. He wants to diminish our stature in the world.
The Iranians violated international law...
And Kerry thanked them.
What could go wrong? Fags. Metrosexuals. Men parading as women. Women parading as men. All are preferred classes in today’s joke of a military. What could go wrong?
Does that mean there wasn’t a weapon among the lot of Dem surrender monkeys too?
Crying Petty Officers?
Kick there as out! How far has my poor Navy Fallen..

Our response should have been to destroy every single boat in Iran. No matter where or the current purpose. Now they laugh at us.
They were not allowed to shoot the Iranians
because Iran outranks all US military at the
White MOsque. The goal of the exercise
was to transfer tech to Iran (TREASON) and to
make the NAVY cry.
Right where obummer wants our military...
Is anybody besides me just not buying this story? In order to believe this report you would have to accept that not one but two military craft loaded with high tech equipment lost all communications and ability to navigate. Just floating aimlessly in enemy waters. Then you have to depressingly believe our navy personnel are a bunch of snow flakes who at age 20 something can’t stay up all night and then take a fast boat ride somewhere. In addition you have to accept that they are a bunch of snivelling weaklings too scared to blow a couple of bass boats out of the water with overwhelming firepower. Then start boo hooing after capture.
If this story is true which I doubt we are in bigger trouble than I thought.
“Report: US sailors ill-prepared for Iran encounter in Gulf”
WHY? . . . Kerry?
By saying that one is “not buying this story”, is this an expression of the belief that Obama, in the capacity of Commander-in-Chief of the US military, would insure that our navy is tougher than this? because it seems like this is exactly where Obama wants our fighting forces to be, frankly, especially when up against his buddies in Iran.
The story is a load of !@#$. If there is any branch of service that is technologically light-years ahead of everyone else it’s the U.S. Navy.
We have more equipment and better equipment (by generations in technological terms) to protect the U.S. One does have to ask if WE would be friendly to foreign carrier groups floating just off our coasts. I fail to understand why people on this message board both decry interventionism and then clamor for airstrikes all in the same breath. It’s usually the same canard: “I believe we need to protect U.S. interests.” It’s comical to read sometimes.
Have you come across any other news article other than the AP sourced ones everyone is using. None cite specific original USN Investigative report or link to origin.
It’s the first one I’ve seen thus far.
For the AP, it is remarkable that they are actually bordering on being critical of Obama here.
