Can anyone tell me what, in the opinion of the SCOTUS majority, makes abortion so damn special that it can't be regulated by the same laws which are used to regulate other normal and often less complicated medical "procedures"? Some years ago, I went to an outpatient surgical clinic which had the exact same requirements for a colonoscopy. I was damn glad they had such requirements because there were complications.

And that's ultimately why the law was struck down; Texas couldn't show that the rules were medically required, because they didn't apply to other types of procedures.

I'm very torn about these types of laws; anything that slows or stops abortion is a good thing, but using the power of the State to regulate away businesses we don't like is really a tool of the Left. Sets a very bad precedent for the Dems.
