You should have seen the look on Howard Kurtz's face, and then he warned the journalist "Don't go there". And I believe he gave some other excuse.
This fact is crucial to the election. Most of this program was devoted to covering Trump's mistakes and shortcomings. Some limited time was given to Hillary's problems, but it was not balanced, IMHO.

Nixon came close. Whitewater was a growing scandal during the election, but it didn’t reach investigative ripeness until well afterwards.
Trump will not suppress it.
Nixon may have come close to being under investigation, but Nixon was patriotic and had nowhere near the scandals the Clinton’s have. Nixon never ran a charitable money laundering scheme and lived within his means.

Did you see the look on his face when Hillary under investigation was brought up? I thought the program was at least 85/15 biased toward Hillary. Not a fair show at all.
Of course Whitewater was much more corrupt than Watergate but it was run by a sitting President's staff not a sitting Governor, his wife and other state officials!
