DALLAS (AP) - An attorney handling Johnny Manziel's domestic violence case expressed doubts about the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback's ability to stay clean and said he was given a receipt that shows Manziel may have spent more than $1,000 at a drug paraphernalia store just 15 hours after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash, according to a lengthy text message accidentally sent to The Associated Press.

Defense attorney Bob Hinton's text indicated Manziel's legal team was seeking a plea deal with prosecutors, but suggested that could be tricky.

"Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle," the attorney wrote.

Hinton also wrote that he had been emailed a "heads up" receipt "which purports to reflect" that Manziel made a purchase of $1,018.77 at a Gas Pipe store at 12:03 p.m. on Tuesday, less than a day after his crash. A manager at a Gas Pipe location not far from where Manziel's crash was reported declined to discuss whether he bought anything there. A sign in the store says ID is required for purchases above $200.

What a low-life little punk. Given the opportunity of a life-time and spits on it. Screw him!

Lawyer just kind of screwed his own career away. Sheesh, that Manziel is bad mojo.

Deliberately done so he can fire inept counsel and get this stuff tossed out of the trial.

Breach of attorney-client privilege, creating negative bias against his own client. That’s going to cost him.

It’s like a winner of the $35 Million Dollars Lottery realizing that their life has been ruined since the moment they won. Some folks cannot handle unlimited choices, and find it difficult to make most any kind of decision without asking their girlfriend or their buddy to chose first.
Maybe he’ll move into a monastery for a few years after donating x amount of thousands of dollars to the Friars.

On the other hand, the lawyer was telling the obvious truth. I suppose that’s not very lawyerly.

Manziel’s future is Jail or Death.

A complete dead ender who you can’t tell a damned thing to.

He’ll have to learn the hardest way possible.

Hopefully when he finally kills himself, he won’t take anyone else with him.

The Dallas DA should be sympathetic, as she has had a couple of stints in rehab, and is currently staying at her second ‘residential treatment facility’ of the summer (Menninger apparently didn’t work, and she had to find another facility to try).

Recent pictures that I’ve seen show that’s he’s no longer even semi-semi-pro ready. He’s lost upwards of 50 lbs and he looks like every heroin addict I have seen.

He’ll never play NFL and I hope he finds a new path.

Hinton said he had meant to send it to another attorney on the case and was unaware the AP had received it instead. He insisted the contents were protected by attorney-client privilege and threatened to sue if certain details were published.

I'm having a tough time understanding how he inadvertently sent this to a national media outlet when he thought he was sending it to a specific individual. Does the other attorney have a name that is spelled similar to "Associated Press?"

I would have used "bad juju" in the sense of bad luck.

Any chance the Heisman committee can recall the trophy and give it to the runner up?

I suspect nothing came difficult for Lil’ Johnny. Trust fund kid whom will never worry about money or responsibility unless his Parents wake up and try for once to be Parents. Problem is they are probably to late. Another tragic case of affluenza.

The Dallas DA has to go to rehab

Hydrocodone, oxycontin and Adderall coupled with paranoia and depression. She may be the only countywide Republican office holder.
