"Wait...what? Required by LAW to own a stock and never sell it?" It is one of those Ohio regional quirks.
Like around here if one would serve salmon patties and not serve mac and cheese and green beans with them it is considered a killing offense.

Some of my accounts are up, some are down. US utilities are doing well, oil is only off slightly. Bank preferreds are down, but not much. I don’t see why US drug companies should be down so much, they’ll probably come back.

I will let you know when I stop celebrating.

I'm not convinced the UK will be allowed to exit, no matter how the proles vote.
Why didn't the Czechs vote to expel the Blitzkreig in 1939? (Because it would have been a waste of time)
The vote was only symbolic. Even if it's taken seriously, it will be years before any action is taken. It would require approval from UK and nearly all the EU governments, negotiations, new or amended treaties...
Don't see it happening any time soon.

Add to that the FACT that the UK never became part of the EURO currency. The pound sterling has remianed through it all.
The plutocrats are going to make this as bad as they can for as long as they can and tell the sheeple,
“Look, see what you did? It is all your fault. We can fix it for you and if you’d just have had enough sense to let things alone and leave it to us things could have been better.”

The day Soros becomes worm food the world will be a much better place. He has caused so much misery and pain he deserves the flames of hell he will receive when he finally assumes room temperature.

When I was a kid [well thats some 80 years ago] the pound would cost $5. The story would be how much England has declined with some combination of war and inflation. But there were times when it was much lower against the dollar. I remember an exchange rate of 3 pounds for one dollar in the mid-60s. It was a great time to visit Carnaby Street.

I dont understand why it is the Pound that is falling. Don't look at me for financial answers. But it probably has to do with the investment sector floating way above the consumer marketplace. Investors have pulled back from UK because any change of this magnitude brings uncertainty about the unknown alterations that will be shaking up the UK's economy/financial sector/banking regulations.
