Immigration advocates want Hudson County to end partnership with ICE

Immigrant advocates are asking Hudson County to end its participation in a federal program that permits county officers to identify and arrest undocumented immigrants.

The county's current agreement to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement program, known as 287(g) for the section of the 1996 law that authorized it, expires on June 30. Advocates for immigrants asked county freeholders at their meeting tonight to urge the county to sever its relationship with ICE

A county home to so many officials who claim to be pro-immigrant should not participate in the 287(g) program, Chia-Chia Wang, organizing and advocacy director for the immigrant rights program at Newark-based American Friends Service Committee, told The Jersey Journal.

"It's wrong in so many ways," said Wang, who noted that Census figures show 42 percent of the county's population is foreign born.

All of these “Feel Good” jurisdictions which advocate such “Illegal Alien Friendly” policies should be denied Federal Funds TOTALLY next January!

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) has been a far-left organization since the 1960’s when it threw in its lot with Hanoi and its Viet Cong front.

Then the AFSC went into the “Anti-Intelligence Lobby”, the “Anti-Defense Lobby”, the “PLO Lobby” (1977 conference at the 4H building in DC, with Gail Pressburg), and now the pro-illegal immigration lobby.

They pose as “Quakers” or “Friends” but some of their key leaders in the “Hanoi Lobby” were neither and espoused pro-VC/Hanoi support statements (i.e. Stewart Meacham, Russell Johnson, Louis Schneider (a supposed Quaker), etc).

You’ve got to know what is underneath the “label” before trusting what it says.

There are numerous "Religious" groups which openly defy laws they do not agree with! "Render Under Caesar" is of no interest to them! They favor open borders, unlimited welfare, etc. I dealt with such groups nearly 40 years ago while they demanded federal prosecution of (admittedly) bad actors but..., THEY REFUSED to identify complainants and made prosecution IMPOSSIBLE! A continual exercise in futility for law enforcement!!!
