Kind of interesting turn of phrase. Many of us PM fans think of Palladium (Pd) atomic number 46 as a precious metal similar to Platinum. Which it is. “Discovered” in 1803.

But “palladium” was also used as we use “paradigm” a “model” for something, usually implying a high-grade model, an epitome.
