A more likely scenario is for the US, Canada and Mexico to unite into an extended USA = 50+10(canada)+31(Mexico)+1(Puerto Rico)

That's the end-state of NAFTA and I don't think it's possible to stop that now.

of course, this doesn’t mean its a good thing. Linking up with Alberta is good, but with Mexico city is bad. But can it be stopped?
