First-degree attempted murder carries greater penalties and often means a life sentence with the possibility of parole. Offenders typically spend at least 10 years in prison, although mandatory minimum sentences for attempting to murder a public official may be 10 to 15 years.

So you have to look deeper and go to the second narrative: "Because of the incendiary rhetoric..." but in this case it would have to be the incendiary rhetoric of the protestors being bused in to harass every Trump rally. So they can't say that.
Third narrative is "it never happened"
His father has been quoted as saying he sent his murderous son to the USA to ‘straighten his life out.’ We now accept people with murder in their heart and Europe is happy to comply.
