But why can't you simply pass a provision that says that, “anybody who’s on a terrorist watch list or has been on a terrorist watch list for the last five years, tries to buy a gun, the FBI is automatically notified?”

AWESOME POINT! This is exactly what should happen! But in the PC day-and-age we live in, nothing will happen anyway because - profiling! Just like where the store that Omar-the-Gay tried to buy the flak vest turned that info into the FBI and they did nothing...

Why this is a bad idea without due process?

Are you anti LGBT? The SPLC classifies you as a hate group.

Are you anti-immigrant? The SPLC classifies you as a hate group.

Are you anti-Muslim? The SPLC classifies you as a hate group.

Who do you think the obamites lean heavily upon to identify terrorists?

The FBI is already notified if someone on the watch list attempts to buy a gun.

It is obvious what Senator Murphy is saying. He is saying, in essence:

We cannot get full scale confiscation all at once. We need to do this in little bites, so that by the time everything comes together, people will not have reallized they destroyed the Second Amendmenat by a lot of little infringements that all work together to interlock and and become a cohesive whole.

Senator Murphy is reluctant to say it, because the disarmists know that it confirms the “slippery slope” approach that Second Amendment supporters have been warning about for decades.
