The enormous mansion in Northern Virginia was built as a monument to Rodney P. Hunt’s success, a trophy estate along the Potomac River to mark his rise from teen lawn mowing hustler to government contracting multimillionaire.
But on Thursday, the home on Chain Bridge Road in McLean — valued at $24.5 million — was auctioned on the steps of the Arlington County courthouse for $7.3 million to an undisclosed buyer in one of the region’s largest foreclosure sales.
Hunt, 55, who had staved off foreclosure for several years amid massive debts, drug charges and bankruptcy proceedings, had finally suffered the ultimate reversal of his fortunes.

His house is very near Ft. Marcy Park and, if I am not mistaken, next door to the residency of the Saudi ambassador.
In the DC region, there are probably 3,000 guys who claim they either played for the NBA, NFL or MLB. Ninety-nine percent never played a day. It’s like the number of people in the same region who claim they’ve worked for the CIA, FBI or State Department.
In 2010/2011 timeframe, I lived in Arlington next door to an apartment building where some idiot gal convinced everyone that she was CIA. She eventually talked up some guy into the idea that he could be hired, and she pretend-hired him (he actually gave notice from his regular job) and it took him around five days to figure out that she was totally bogus (and nuts). Cops couldn’t do nothing.

At this point, you are required to sign two documents. One states that you will never reveal your employment with the agency even to family. The other states that you have no right to know the reasons if your employment is ever terminated or not ultimately formalized.
Unless you are ultimately interviewed at Langley, any employment offer is bogus.
Yeah, that’s another thing that I’ve seen over the past forty years. I’ve probably bumped into at least eight people who said they were at Woodstock. One of them would have been around 12 years old at the time, which I pointed out to him, and he claims that he went there with a cousin.
It’s like the Desert Storm thing....you bump into people all the time now who say they were there. Or you bump into people who claim to have personally met Elvis.
From what the journalists got out of the cops....no Virginia or fed law was broken.
Based on comments in my apartment complex....the gal’s parents were paying for living arrangements and just feeding money to her for her life (no job, complete liar, etc). She’s just there in her little imaginary world and occasionally grabbing onto people to drag into her world. Pretty sad deal but you can’t put someone into a facility for that kind of behavior.
most folks who have been here and done that will never tell anyone that they did. like the WWII veteran who got blown up by a mortar in France after D-Day, spent a year in the hospital and would never tell anyone the harrowing story. people who claim glory and attendance are for the most part just useless gasbags.
I would think it wold fall under the classification of fraud, however, I think that would have required her to actually have extracted money from him. Thus is falls under the classification of the guy just being a stupid idiot, who no doubt votes Democrats across the board.
I went to school with a guy that wanted to go to work with the CIA. He totally disappeared about a year after he graduated. I have little doubt if he got the job or not.
I simply wish that I could claim that I was in attendance at Fenway Park when Ted Williams had his last at-bat. There were less than 9000 people there!
Someone got a sweet deal huh, and since it is valued at 24.5 million he could take out a sizable equity loan.
