First of all, let's not forget that it was Al Gore's 'commission' on airport security that watered down it's findings in 2000 after the airlines raised a stink about the recommended increases in security (wah! it will cost too much!), and then there was the infamous Jamie Gorelick 'wall' which prevented our intelligence agencies from sharing intelligence data which could have made it more likely to stop the 9/11 plot before it got off the ground (no pun intended)

Add to the fact that when two FAA security men contacted Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts in the spring of 2001, claiming that their superiors and the FAA IGs were ignoring their warnings about security at (drum roll) Logan International in Boston, and the only response they got was that because they were in Texas, and not constituents of Kerry, that there would be nothing useful to be gained by testifying before Kerry's committee in the Senate (even though those FAA guys offered to fly to Washington on their own dime). Then you have UPI in a long forgotten down-the-memory-hole report in AUGUST of 2001, stating that the Russian Foreign Ministry was screaming bloody murder at the Taliban, due to their appointing Osama bin Laden himself as their 'Commander-in-Chief' of their armed forces. Even a part time summer intern in the federal government would have thought that was suspicious, given the rapidly rising tide of Islamic terrorism, specifically in Afghanistan.

Naturally, post-911, the FBI was pressed into service not as investigators, but as escorts and concierges to be sure "our friends the Saudis" were safely and comfortably taken to waiting airliners to whisk them out of the continental United States and back to Saudi Arabia, done at the order of that globalist sack of shit, aka George W. Bush, who proceeded to institute our new fascist security masters, der 'Department und Homeland Security', first led by (cue rousing cheers and applause as GWB intoned) "Pennsylvania's Tom Ridge!!".

Our federal government at the time was already moving steadily into a dictatorial mode, but 9/11 was exactly what was needed to turn our Nation into a fascist state and I defy anyone to prove otherwise.

I dislike the Bush family, I'm thrilled they have been mortally wounded by Trump, they deserved to lose their power base. I hope they are gone.

Let's just say the story of our descent into becoming a stupid country started before them, way before 9/11, and the part played by the Bush family was really pretty small compared to all the forces unleashed. The loss of our culture was far beyond politics, and unfortunately all of us lost in that war.

I see the Bushes as more of a naive, feckless bunch who sold their (and our) positions for a bowl of porridge, and 9/11 as one of many tests we failed as a nation.
