Amen regarding: “How do these idiotic, “symbolism over substance” politicians keep getting elected?”

And a fully complicit media that parrots without question, attention wore politician talking points.
Very few long gun firearms are used in the commission of a crime, which calls into question the honesty of the news report claim, ie: “Since 2013, Connecticut has prohibited the AR-15 and the Sig Saucer MCX and has since seen a decrease in violent crimes.”
Really?
What statistical facts and methods were used to prove the premise?
26 people “murdered” in the 2012 Sandy hook incident would create a huge violent crime spike, which following year’s 2013 - 2015 would of course show “a decrease of violent crimes”.
The long arm ban likely has had no bearing on the gangbanger shootings happening in CT cities, ie: Hartford, New Haven, New London, Bridgeport, New Britain.

BTW: look at 2012 FBI CT violent crime stats for Newtown, where the Sandy Hook elementary shooting took place on Dec 2012.
Note it does not reflect the 26 deaths that occurred.
Snopes.com explains it away as being so because the State police responded, versus local police.
BS. MANY CT small towns in receive state police response because they don’t have their own local police force, and technically a state police constable would arrive at the scene of a crime.
Small towns that do have state police constables have their murder stats reflected in the FBI crime stats.
Something us rotten in CT.
