The Washington Poo is right ... we must not infringe on others rights if they haven't committed a crime ... unless they own a gun ... want to fly a confederate flag ... or worship at a Christian Church!
Other than Second Amendment rights. If you are on a "no fly list" made up by some bureaucrat, then you can lose those. Oh the irony.
Wrong!!They should have put a stop on him buying guns and they could have arrested him for lying on his forms.
The crime was Islam. Islam is essentially banned in Angola because they know what it is.
The Washington Post is trying to shift the issue. No, the feds didn’t have the right to arrest him. But that’s not the question. The questions are why was he taken off the watch list and how did he ever get security clearance to work for a DHS private contractor.
That is true. The bizarre thing is that they couldn't find a crime to indict him for or a cause to have him declared mentally incompetent.
Disney called, Hey this guy has visited Disneyworld SIX TIMES in the past year...
Gun store called.
He beat his wife.
He knew suicide-bombers.

They couldn’t arrest him from a civilian law enforcement perspective. A wartime counter terrorism perspective is a different matter.
Greenwald is also on the team of people that blew the lid off the NSA's warrantless wiretapping program.
If you read the rest of the article, he makes some very good points, and almost says exactly what Ben Franklin said:
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
I have never seen a media outlet more in the tank for all things leftist as the Compost.
Trump: ‘We just took the press credentials away’ from The Post
June 16, 2016 1:41 PM EDT - Republican Maryland governor Larry Hogan has publicly admitted he isn’t voting for Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump. Here are the many times Logan has said he won’t back Trump’s run for the White House. (Claritza Jimenez / The Washington Post)
WARNING: Anything you read from Washington Post is probably a lie....
“See something, say something” is all but officially dead.
Glenn Greenwald is a moron if he believes his argument.
Specious unctuous beside the point straw man crap.
The FBI failed on this very badly. It was the “Rules od Engagement” and political correctness that once again killed many innocent Americans. All of these killers were Wahhabi Sect Sunnis but we don’t have a clue?
Deear mr/mz/glad whatever the you folk are at wopo, that’s why you push unconstitutional Gun Grabs???F U MoFos!
Did the FBI interview him? Did they get a judge to approve a wire tap? Did they put put him under surveillance? None of those things violate a person’s rights and could have prevented the latest Muslim massacre.
Obama’s a piece of America hating trash, but at least he isn’t Islamophobic.
So the best we have is wait for a terrorist scumbag to shoot up the place, and then the government can say, yup, we had him under surveillance. For Pete’s sake, the only chance anyone has, under those conditions, is to be armed.
The problem is that this goon was not a legitimate citizen.
Read the fine print on your US passport. It cites the laws under which you forfeit your US citizenship. Among them is training or serving with a foreign fighting force.
Mateen’s stint with the Taliban in Afghanistan is enough for him to have forfeited his US citizenship.
He should never have been allowed reentry into the US, since DHS and FBI both knew about him training with the Taliban.
The question is not if he should have been arrested, but why he was allowed to obtain guns.
The sole purpose of background checks is to prevent possibly/certainly dangerous people from obtaining guns.
He was crazy.
He was a wife-beater.
Either/both of those two should be sufficient to bar his purchases.
The FBI could have requested the gun dealer not to sell him a gun, even if they were legally unable to block a sale.
