I don't know if this has been posted before (I searched and did not find it), but this kid gives the funniest graduation speech I've ever seen. He's gonna be a star. His impressions of all the candidates are so spot on, and the content is so funny, I'd be amazed if he doesn't get a spot on late night TV, or even Saturday Night Live. He's gonna be a star.

The line about Sanders and the cinnamon rolls was priceless (pun intended).

Meh, he’s not remotely close on any that I watched. I have to admit, I got tired of listening to it though and stopped before it concluded.

If you want to see a good and funny Obama, Trump and Bernie, watch Dana Carvey on Fallon or Conan.

What I like about it is not just the great impressions, but it’s not at all mean-spirited. He poked fun at the candidates in such a way that the candidates themselves, and their supporters, would probably laugh at it. Most adults can’t manage that. Well done, kid.

You're right. If you can't laugh at this, then you need to take a chill pill.

Eighth-Grade Graduation?

When did this become a “thing”?

That was so funny. For an eighth grader he is very good. And he certainly entertained the crowd.

Looks like private school. I guess the money they pay includes the graduation. And I don’t remember seeing anyone but white people.

When I was in school and going from sixth grade to junior high we had a graduation. I remember my mother calling it absurd. We also had eighth grade graduation, even though junior high and high school were in the same building.

I taught at a K-8 school district. The surrounding K-12 districts didn’t have 8th grade graduation, but we did. The idea is very old—not new—when most rural kids were considered educated (and by today’s standards they really were) and their education was considered complete at the end of 8th grade. Only the very most motivated would go on to high school.

My state has requirements for diploma-issuing schools that such as US and state constitution tests. So my kids would have to pass those tests before they could graduate, and pass them again to graduate from high school.
