The A-10 succeeds because it focuses on the job it does.

Your opinion May prove correct in the long run, but there’s no basis in fact yet.
Since the earliest days of the technology demo phase, I have marveled at the idea of picking off 20,000 lbs of thrust from a turbofan for providing lift. And the weapon system using information from off-board has some stunning capabilities as well.

The F-35 almost seems to be more technology demonstrator than it is a true ready-for-prime-time fighter.
