“PROGRESSIVE” = REPRESSIVE
Some years ago I was at a neighborhood gathering and a Liberal neighbor was explaining to some people what this country needed:
“We should make guns illegal, we should tax the churches, we should take money away from people who have too much, we should force top colleges to accept poor students, we should shut down companies that pollute too much, we should do this, we should do that ...”
I casually mentioned that this could be going too far. She turned and practically spit at me: “I know you! You’re a Republican! You just want to control everyone! You’re a fascist!”
I said, “I just want to be left alone. That’s pretty much what it means to be a Conservative. Sounds to me like you’re the one with all kinds of ideas about controlling things.”
She stormed away.
"Unintentional", my A$$.
That’s why long ago, you should have stopped calling them “liberals”, which means lover of liberty, and started calling them “Leftists” which includes all that goes along with tyranny.
Wasn’t John Dean pushing the conservatives as authoritarians line in a book a few years ago? He specifcally cited one or more “scientific” studies.
All they had to do was read Dickens Tale of Two Cities! Who needed a study?
This is great;

“The authors regret that there is an error in the published version of Correlation not Causation: The Relationship between Personality Traits and Political Ideologies American Journal of Political Science 56 (1), 3451. The interpretation of the coding of the political attitude items in the descriptive and preliminary analyses portion of the manuscript was exactly reversed. Thus, where we indicated that higher scores in Table 1 (page 40) reflect a more conservative response, they actually reflect a more liberal response. Specifically, in the original manuscript, the descriptive analyses report that those higher in Eysenck’s psychoticism are more conservative, but they are actually more liberal; and where the original manuscript reports those higher in neuroticism and social desirability are more liberal, they are, in fact, more conservative.”

“It’s done by people who consider themselves a force for good.”
C.s. Lewis said that these were the most crushing types of tyrannies: the tyrants believe they are doing something for your own good, so they won’t ever stop, and they’ll also sleep well at night.
In other words, The American Journal of Political Science lied to support their favored ideology.
Wonder what they have to say about that phony-baloney “Global Warming.”
