A bit late for LE to do anything about it. Mateen was already on the FBI’s “watch list”. Seems a bit more “prompt” action was needed at a higher level when a highly questionable individual has made the Watch List.
As a side note: I wonder how long that list is.
I thought he was taken off the watch list. He even had security clearance to work for a DHS private contractor.
