Whats it like to grow up in a conservative Christian home, come to terms with your same-sex attraction, and serve as a husband and pastor? Allan Edwards, a Presbyterian pastor based in Western Pennsylvania, shares his compelling story in this video.
Allan illustrates again the power of the biblical narrative when it comes to the issue of homosexuality. He is to be commended for his openness on an issue thats so contentious, as are these other brand-new testimonies from the UK.
Allan talks about having struggled with hypocrisy and pornography. He also shares how Christians helped him along the way: I wasnt rejected. I wasnt ostracized. I was loved and encouraged.
Watch the full video.
None of the Christians he confessed to shot him with an automatic weapon or threw him off a building.
I used to go to a small lutheran church. I left when they got rid of the pastor and brought in a woman who quickly hung out the rainbow flag.

. . . . . . But, for the most part, entire denominations today operate without the Holy Spirit. They are devoid of the presence of Jesus, bankrupt of all spiritual gifts. They practice a form of religion without any power, conviction or saving message. They are cozy with the world and are more political than spiritual. They appease sin — coddling homosexuals, winking at divorce, ridiculing the supernatural, tossing aside all teachings about heaven, hell, repentance and judgment . . . .
As soon as I saw he was “loved and encouraged”, I wondered what he was encouraged to do.
Loved, by all means. Encouraged? I hope he was encouraged to repent of his sin, ask for forgiveness, and seek God’s healing and plan for his life.
While I would certainly pray for him and wish all the best, I’m not sure this is a proper candidate for a Pastor.
We're sorry you lost, sir.
He rejects G-d’s words, and you’re “not sure” he’s a proper candidate for a Pastor? How many of G-d’s words does he reject?
Any church with such a pastor might as well just go all the way and add animal sacrifices and pentagram paintings into the sermons.
I didn’t go to the source article and there is nothing in the excerpt to suggest he is currently disregarding God’s word.
YOU have hit the nail on the head.
And God has revealed Himself through His Son in His Holy Word, so man is without excuse.
EXCEPT Deuteronomy 22:5.
If you can’t follow your own religion, the last thing you should be is a pastor.
Nothing in the above excerpt suggests he currently dresses in woman’s clothes.
Excuse me. First verse that came to my brain. I argue lots with pro-lopitoffame people.

I’m astounded you don’t know them. I assume you’re not a Christian.
I am well familiar with those verses. I have lectured, taught and preached them many times. They deal with one of the multitudes of sins which are washed away and forgiven as a result of repentance and acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This man clearly states that homosexual conduct is a sin, that he has repented of that sin, accepted Jesus’ grace and he does not do it any more. This is exactly what Jesus calls us to do. (”Repent and believe” - it’s the very first imperative Jesus preaches in the book of Mark. Every Christian has a similar story although each had their pet sins to repent of. The fact you are judging this man for sins repented of and forgiven makes me assume YOU are not a Christian.
I never watched the video (and, still haven’t), so, I assumed he was still homosexual. Better title would have been, “Former same-sex attracted pastor...”.
No, I’m not a Christian. I’m converting to Chassidic Judaism.
Did anyone watch the video??? He affirmed the biblical position and admitted it is a struggle that he deals with like any other sin that you or I may deal with such as potential attraction/addiction to porn, other women, sex outside marriage, etc...At the very end He gave a a few principles one of which is to not to make it out to be a worse sin than others (like heterosexual adultery/fornication) and another one was not to be scared to call a sin SIN. Which is what he affirms homosexuality is.
Why would you believe this guy? Come back and talk to me in a couple of years and I’ll reconsider. Also I hope he is no longer a pastor.
