The State Dept. has been infiltrated by foreign interests for at least the last 30 years.
I needs to be closed down, everyone in it fired and new people with NO previous links to the state dept hired to replace ALL positions.
The only aspect I can think of is if the investigation centered on foreign imams and speakers invited to the mosque.
One of the things the State Dept or other powers that be wanted shut down was further investigation of local islamic groups that were associated with Sudanese strongman al Turabi / Tourabi... because of his ties to both Iran and IRaq and al Arian.
