A very strange case. The twin sisters had an enmeshed relationship, and ran a yoga business that made them wealthy but I believe they were accused of mismanaging it.
I don't see why she shouldn't be charged with murder. She may have also intended to kill herself, but she also intended to kill her sister. And even if she expected to die as well (which would appear to be the only logical conclusion, since she went over that cliff herself), she knew she'd be taking her sister's life as well. That should at least be manslaughter. That she is walking around freely in society, after accomplishing manslaughter/murder and attempting suicide, is troubling and mystifying.
Or she may have in the midst of getting her hair pulled and fighting her sister, just hit the gas.
Still manslaughter or negligent homicide.
It’s not just the twins who were nuts. Their older sister is restricted from visiting her now wheelchair bound father, after threatening him with violence. This older sister demanded that the father; a retired jail doctor, give her $100,000.00. The father refused, and was subjected to a lot of abuse. So much abuse, he had to press a button on his medallion that signaled he needed the police to visit.

I guess we can conclude that Yoga doesn’t give you inner peace.
What a weird case...
By releasing her, he just sent her on the way to yet another new identity. They’ll never find her now.
This is a case where the justice system is irrelevant.
I’ve known twins including twins who had one die.
Despite any animosity, the death of a twin is a maiming of the surviving twin. They usually don’t last long. In my experience, never more than a year.
Why the name change?
Her sister may have hit the gas and grabbed the wheel.
A friend of mine was arguing with his drunk girl friend
when she did that, ran into a tree and she died.
It happens. It took about three years for him to get
cleared.
She was a sweet girl when sober, we knew her, but one
drink and she was out of control.
????
Seems like there were emotions and she was having violence done to her - how do you justify your judgement of her without more facts than are available?
Perhaps guilty of many other sins - as are we all - but no way to deem it murder with what's available.
