WASHINGTON — First, anti-Trump Republicans thought they could beat Donald Trump outright in the primary.

Then, they thought they could hold him under the required threshold number of delegates and beat him in a floor fight at the convention.

After that went out the window, some of the most ardent Trump opponents floated the idea of a third-party conservative option. But the only person who seemed like he really might do it, National Review writer David French, bowed out before it could become a reality. It seemed as though the never-Trump crowd was finally out of options.

I have the perfect solution for Mitt Romney and his “Trump” haters!!! Just become folks with a backbone instead of the weak, insane, sisters you all are. Your hateful games, if approved, would destroy the Republican Party forever in a New York minute!!!

So......why don’t you get together over at MItt’s joint....march out onto his lawn, in front of all the media....and openly declare, you loyalty, support and votes will go to Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party!!! Why....you could even have Hillary Clinton and POTUS Barack Hussein Obama attend!! Now....would that, not be peachy, to the 9th degree!!! Do it!!!

And...please if you all chose this path....please, please, do not forget to invite CNN POTUS debate Moderator, Candy Crowley to also attend, this historic, powerful event!!!

I wonder if Ted Cruz will be part of this?

Not if he wants to remain viable.

Voting Trump whether he’s on the ballot or not - if not, will write him in. NO Cruz, Romney, Jeb,Kasich,or anyone else the GOPe tries to foist on us

Yes. This little puke mantra by the MSM is par for course in their propaganda efforts to bolster their incompetent female bag of wind.

I quit the party 6 yrs. ago and I continuously refuse to give them a dime and they get the full explanation of why when I receive their propaganda by phone or mail . The GOP is already history to many true fiscal conservatives . Today I truly can not se much difference between the DNC and the RNC . I suggest they merge so a new less big govt. and more fiscal conservative party will emerge with those bold colors in lieu of faded pastels .

I wouldn’t want the “conscience” of a delegate who votes without regard to the overwhelming election results.

I think that’s the “conscience” of an Adolf Hitler or Saddam Hussein.

Hell we’re half way to a third world dictatorship already, I guess these are just the Quislings to finish the job.

How bout we turn the “never Trump” over to some in the Bernie crowd so some dude wearing a man bun and pajamas with logger boots can beat the bejeepers out of them and we can say...Now do you see why we need Trump to save us from this end?

I quit the party some years ago, when Juan McCain and the GOPe both turned on a dime, immediately after the former's disastrously failed election bid, and did everything they could to destroy Sarah Palin in a crazed attempt to (somehow) make the whole damned mess her, instead of his.

I stopped calling myself a Republican that very day, and now simply refer to myself as a conservative.

Never once looked back, from that day to this.

It is phony outrage number 532 of this election against Trump.. He basically said he thought the Judge might be biased— and that somehow makes him a racist...

These are the same folks who told us to suck it up and vote for Romney, the ONLY Republican unable to tun against Obamacare with any credibility. He was FAR more objectionable in many ways, and all the people touched by conscience now were unmoved, and disinterested in our frustration. Even now they are unable to a knowledge that much of Trump’s strength is on trade and immigration issues.

Isn’t #nevertrump down to just 4 people? Bill Kristol, Jeff Flake, Lindsay Graham and Mark Kirk.

{Trump “won fair and square, and that can’t be denied,” Heye said. “Can the nomination that he’s earned be denied him, and what would the repercussions be for doing so?”}

At this particular point in time the repercussions might be a lot more serious than the death of the Republican party. It might be a second revolutionary war.

We are facing a long, hot summer with millions of people fed up and angry, believing Trump is this country’s last hope.

If the gop, and I don’t add the “e” anymore since they’re either for us or against us, would have actually run a “real conservative” they might have had a chance.

I think the GOP is on it’s last legs now. I believe if Trump is the nominee, they will survive at least through the 2024 election.
If they are successful in their Dump Trump efforts this year, I truly believe that in the 2024 election, they will be considered fringe party. Similar to the Green and Libertarian parties today.
