“You don’t have to be honest. I mean we can talk in theory.” –Paul Diamond, Executive Vice President, Yonkers Teacher Federation “I don’t’ care if it’s the phys ed teacher you went to high school with, you don’t fucking tell anybody anything…Because old loose lips sink ships.” — Patricia Puleo, President, Yonkers Teacher Federation “You could. Your parents could have been down there, or your cousin could have been down there, or your brother and they were taken by drug dealers and you literally had to go bail them out and you didn’t know what to do and you lost your mind.” — Patricia Puleo, President, Yonkers Teacher Federation

James O’Keefe, President and founder of Project Veritas released a new video today as part of a new series documenting the egregious behavior upheld by teachers unions across the country.

In this first video, Project Veritas journalists and James O’Keefe visit with the United Federation of Teachers office in Yonkers to meet with senior union officials to find out what would happen to a teacher who was guilty of abusing a child.

They already did. He spent time in jail, and on probation for a trumped up charge in New Orleans.

He is a bit more careful, and wiser, now.

I have a niece who we nick-named ‘bag lady’ when she was a child in school. She always carried a big beach bag type of thing, and you always had to check that bag to see what she may have put into it, that shouldn’t be in it. But that check didn’t always happen...especially if everybody was in a rush.

One day she came home from school and pulled out a tape recorder with a tape in it that she wanted to play for her mother. She’d stuffed it into that bag before going to school, because she said her teacher was verbally abusive.

This lady was screaming at the kids, calling them stupid, stupid stupid!!! But she also swore at them. Well this tape contained a barrage of insults, swear words and other put downs for an entire side of tape.

We all listened to it, no wonder the kid was so upset! She was only a 3rd grader!

So, her mother had a talk with the teacher and I’m not sure if she let that teacher listen to the tape or not, but whatever my sister said to that teacher was very effective. There wasn’t a single incident of repeat behaviour for the remainder of the school year.

Teachers are people. Human beings. By virtue of their position, they should be high quality people, but they aren’t always. I know teachers who were drunks...I mean falling down in the glass and passing out on the kitchen floor drunks...when they should be in their classrooms. I know teachers who are meth addicts.

Teachers are fallible human beings, some of which is disgraceful and dangerous to the kids. And they do need to be watched.

What were you expecting the union to do? Are the children their members or are the teacher the ones paying the dues?

Why do people hire attorneys? So the attorney will tell them what to do if they do something wrong. That’s what the union was doing.

Oh, my goodness - you don’t mean to tell me that the teacher’s union is corrupt?

There’s a shocker...
