Amen to every bit of that.
“Be still my soul, the Lord is on thy side,
With patience bear thy Cross of grief or pain,
Leave to thy God to order and provide,
In EVERY change He faithful will remain,
Be still my soul, thy best, the Heavenly friend,
By thorny paths leads to a joyful end.”

Be Still My Soul was one of my GrandDad's favorite hymns, How Great Thou Art and Rock of Ages were the others, especially the final verse ...
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy Throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
"When I rise to worlds unknown"
No one can even begin to imagine what awaits those who have placed the fate of their eternal soul into the Hands of Christ.
The Lord be with you too Brother Jeff, I know you have your own struggles each and every day, as do I.
In that same vein, I recall watching the last interview of Charleton Heston when he spoke of the Alzheimer's that was slowly taking away his mind, but he remained stoic and said:
"That which cannot be cured, must be endured"
I fully expect we'll see Brother Charleton up there too.
