When you buy frozen fish in a store often the country of origin is Vietnam. I am willing to bet that radiation fro Fukishima is in part to blame.

“I am willing to bet that radiation fro Fukishima is in part to blame.”

Given the amount of radiation washed into the PACIFIC OCEAN, and the prevailing winds and currents, I’ll take that bet.

Fukushima was five years ago.

Why is this only (apparently) happening now?

There wasn't even enough radiation washed into the ocean off the coast of Japan to cause major fish kills right after the incident; after 5 years of dilution across the entire ocean, it's unlikely there is anything more than a background level of radiation in those fish.

The fish could have been killed by some pollutant. Or they could have been killed by an algae bloom. Or some microorganism might be causing a fatal disease. It is impossible to know without testing both the water and the fish.

Fish killed by radiation would show a greater than background radiation level, Easily detected. What is much more likely is some toxic output from the steel factory. Toxins from that kind of operation are more difficult to identify.

Maybe they’re just pining for the fjords.

I am willing to bet that radiation from Fukushima is in part to blame.

I've seen lots of faceboob memes on Fukushima poisoning the ocean and causing fish kills...

Lots of pretty pictures of radiation contamination...OMG..stop the presses...

It's pretty hard to believe radiation is STILL killing off fish enmass...

Fukushima is well over 2000 miles from the central coast of Vietnam. The radiation would have had to pass a large part of the coast of China to get to Vietnam.
