He meant it when he said it because it was true.
Now it makes sense to re-purpose that weapon and train his sights on a new target, using a trusted old weapon.

Trump has defeated Ted Cruz for the nomination, and Cruz has suspended his campaign. Whether or not Trump really meant the “Lyin’ Ted” line is immaterial, because Ted Cruz is no longer the major opponent for Donald Trump. Since the GOP nomination fight is over, there is no need for Trump to go on with that nickname for Ted.
Trump has shifted his target from Ted Cruz to Hillary Clinton and will focus his campaign on her now.
I think it’s not so much that Rafael jr doesn’t lie anymore, it’s that his lies now are meaningless since there’s nobody listening to him.
So Cruz has endorsed Trump? Ted gave his word to back the GOP winner, if you recall. All those who claim Cruz doesn’t lie must be wondering why it’s taking so long for him to honor his promise.
He’s thumping, knocking, kicking the tires, throwing it against the all to see if it sticks. He’s a smart guy. Try it on, see if it fits. If it does, he’ll use it. If not, he’ll move on.

I’m not wondering at all. He will do it when he is ready. Not a day before.
The onus is now off Ted Cruz. Maybe not to the degree that he attains the endless good graces of The Donald, but enough so that it is evident The Donald now regards Cruz as at least a patriotic American, as Cruz is. Just not one to be near the Presidency.
This does not exclude consideration for some higher post for Cruz at some future date. Perhaps just not by a Trump Administration.
Cruz still has plenty of latitude in which to be an effective legislator and an active voice for the philosophy in which he believes so fervently.
He finally gave up dissing Ted? SHOCK, I tell ya...

Trump is great in some ways but can make it seem he is crying wolf on anything or everything.
He was pointing that weapon in the wrong direction for months :/
You have more confidence in Cruz than many. If the goal is stopping Hillary, what’s to be gained by delaying his endorsement?

I hope he doesn’t abandon Crooked Hillary. That’s the perfect moniker to stick through the fall. She’s not just a liar. She’s been running a crooked scam to the tune of hundreds of millions in personal gain at the expense of Americans and our interests.
