It was agreed in WWI that Russia would get Constantinople,the Bosphorus and the Dardenelles when Germany was defeated. The Bolsheviks abandoned that after the revolution.
Not quite. The Russians made it to the outskirts of Constantinople and could of taken it but signed a peace treaty with the Turks kicking them out of the Balkans. The other European powers, lead by the UK, balked at this massive extension of Russian power leading to the Treaty of Berlin.
