Istanbul, not Constantinople That song was on the juke box in the Student Union when I was a student at Purdue in the mid-50s. One of our Turkish students summed it up as "Americans are crazy."

It was agreed in WWI that Russia would get Constantinople,the Bosphorus and the Dardenelles when Germany was defeated. The Bolsheviks abandoned that after the revolution. Stupid Bolsheviks. Let's hope that's one mistake that Putin corrects.
